Meet the Leaders Shaping ST Companies's Industrial Vision
Sharad Tak focuses on strategy and growth and brings more than 40 years of experience as an entrepreneur, having successfully created, scaled, and sold businesses across multiple industry verticals. He co-founded ST Tissue and ST Paper through the acquisition and turnaround of paper mills in Wisconsin and Virginia. Earlier in his career, Mr. Tak grew ST Systems Corporation, a provider of programming and systems integration services to government agencies, into a $70 million business with 1,100 employees before selling the company to Hughes Aircraft in 1991.
His global ventures have included E-Com Systems, Nam International's luxury hospitality properties in Bermuda, ST Power Systems' 250-megawatt power plant in India, Orange Technologies, and Tak Communications. Mr. Tak holds an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from IIT Mumbai and a master's degree in computer science from the University of Buffalo.
Alap Shah is an energy leader with more than 20 years of experience in the development and management of gas and power infrastructure projects. Prior to joining ST LNG, he served as Managing Director of FLNG Development at New Fortress Energy, where he conceptualized and executed the FAST LNG program from 2021 to 2024.
Under his leadership, the FAST LNG program deployed multiple liquefaction trains across marine infrastructure, including the installation and commissioning of a 1.4 MTPA liquefaction train offshore at Altamira, Mexico, which is currently producing above nameplate capacity. Earlier in his career, Mr. Shah contributed to the Golar Hilli and Golar Gimi FLNG projects through Black & Veatch Corporation. He is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Nebraska.
Arlin Travis brings over 30 years of experience in the energy industry, specializing in trading, origination, acquisitions, and project development. His career includes advisory and leadership roles working with major global institutions such as Royal Bank of Scotland, Morgan Stanley Commodities Group, Shell Energy North America, Sempra Energy, Carlyle, Noble Gas & Power, Comisión Federal de Electricidad, and Chevron Shipping.
Mr. Travis has contributed to the development of large-scale power and energy infrastructure projects, including combined cycle power plants, peaker plants, transmission lines, and wind projects across North America. His natural gas experience includes headline LNG terminals such as Costa Azul and Altamira, as well as major pipeline projects including Rosarito, Agua Blanca, and Whistler.
He holds a U.S. Coast Guard Master Mariner's License (Retired).
Barry Reisig has been closely involved with ST Companies's business activities since the 1980s, providing strategic guidance on financing and taxation strategies during his tenure as a partner at Arthur Andersen. His long-standing relationship with the group has supported the development and growth of multiple ventures across industries.
He has served as a board member for several organizations, including as Audit Committee Chairman of a public corporation. Mr. Reisig is a Certified Public Accountant and is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and the McIntire School of Commerce.
Sahil Tak co-founded ST Paper and ST Tissue and led the financing efforts for the acquisition of the Oconto Falls paper manufacturing facility in 2007. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the ST Paper companies, including sales and marketing, customer relationships, and pricing negotiations
Prior to joining ST Paper, Mr. Tak worked in the Investment Banking Division at J.P. Morgan as an equity analyst covering automotive OEMs and parts suppliers. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Boston College and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Owner/President Management program.
Ron Thiry joined ST Paper and ST Tissue in 2018, bringing more than 30 years of experience across tissue, specialty paper, and flexible packaging operations. He oversees manufacturing operations with a focus on efficiency, quality, and long-term performance.
Prior to ST Paper, Mr. Thiry spent 10 years with Little Rapids Corporation, where he led specialty paper and flexible packaging businesses, oversaw strategy development and acquisition integration, and managed a $35 million tissue machine rebuild. Earlier, as Vice President of Manufacturing for Essity (formerly SCA), he was responsible for U.S. manufacturing facilities, procurement, and engineering, and led site selection and business case development for a $240 million greenfield tissue mill in Barton, Alabama. He holds a master's degree in Engineering Management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and a bachelor's degree in Paper Science.
